Yeah I know the topic has been discussed multiple times already. But I just want to point out my opinion as a different perspectives to other media posts. And again, this is no mean to judge every single Isekai anime is as I criticize, some are still good. So, if your favourite anime is an Isekai anime and this offends you, take it with a grain of salt.
1. There are too many, but the quality isn't met
From my perspective, the Isekai theme is a new "movement" in the development of anime' themes. If you aren't familiar with this theme or you don't watch anime much, this is a theme in which the characters are transfered into 'another world'. Since the success of Sword Art Online (2012), the Isekai theme was received attention from the audience and then grow till today.
In the current situation, the demand for Isekai anime content from the audience is considerable. It makes the studio to follow the market demand and producing anime with theme, mostly they are adapted from Light Novel. However, there is one big problem with this Isekai theme in this period. Because they produced too many Isekai anime to supply the demand, each film is mostly low-invested and it really tiring watching too many anime content with low quality.
As an anime-manga fan for more than 10 years, my personal standard for an anime increased. I want to watch an anime not just because it is an anime with a theme/topic I like, but because of the quality and the delivery of the story in that anime. Therefore, I feel kinda sad and discouraged to witness the fact that the overall quality of anime is going lower, especially a popular theme as Isekai. Me myself didn't hate Isekai from the start, I do enjoy good work like SAO or Overlord to be honest. But in the recent time, when I see an Isekai anime, all I want is to just pass it, or maybe watch it to kill my time.
So in which way those anime proved themselves to have such low-quality that I don't like to watch anymore ?
2. Low-invested Story
I may don't understand the how other people think, but clearly we can see that most Isekai story currently have really low-invested stories. I'm not sure how a piece of work can be authorized to be adapted from a novel to anime due to the limitation of my knowledge. However, the majority of Isekai anime stories are really low-invested, in my opinion. They mostly start with a catchy name with somehow, an interesting beginning with the main character who have a special ability when he/she come to the new world. However, we can all see that the story are bland after the seventh, eighth episode (roughly from 3rd volume of the Light Novel).

(Isekai Smartphone, even though it is well received by the audience, but from my PoV, has a low quality story)
This is my presumption, but I think most of the authors only try to have an interesting beginning to catch audience attention. After the beginning, when the story develops, they don't have a proper plan or thought about how the story will progress or the goal of the story. The progression of the story is the crucial to keep the audience to the work because, there is no point in investing their time in a story that they have no interest to know the next development of the story. Therefore, I get bored with the story really quick and my interest to the story plummet after a few episode. The Light Novel from which those Anime is adapted, is the root of the problems, in my opinion. The story may serve the majority of audience who want to escape from their normal life, want to be cool and strong in a new world and attractive to beautiful girls, but it doesn't serve me right. I prefer to enjoy a story with more investment in terms of mind work, and not only with a catchy beginning.
3. Mundane Characters
A good character, from my point of view, need to be a 'real' character. They need to have a real personality, which have both the good characteristics and the flaws in their action and thinking. Then, there they will be developed through the their journey throughout the story. Isekai Main characters overall, have a really low-identical characteristics. They come into a new world with their special ability, utilize it really efficiently and beat every opponent they face with little or no threats overall. Most of them rarely, or never receives any defeats, or real difficult challenges to overcome. Therefore, I think they are mundane and does not have much exceptions to stand out from other Isekai characters. They are basically overpowered and their journey doesn't have bring them much development.
With low-identical protagonist like that, the development to the girls are quite the same, or even worse. The characters mostly doesn't support in the story, the progress aren't different much. Me myself especially really tired of those Isekai that there are too many female main characters with so poor development that I rarely can remember about them or their reason to develop feelings or go along with the protagonists.
With such boring characters, of course my interest to Isekai would drop significantly.
4. Poor quality Adaptions
I won't judge the studios about their decision for how much money and work they will invest in a film. Rather than that, I just want to point out the fact.
Like I said previously, the Isekai Anime aren't all bad. Some of them have a good story with good characters. I have read a few Light Novel before they are adapted to the anime and some of them I think is pretty good. However, the quality of the Anime isn't as good as quality of the original. To be specific, the images and the animation of the fights in some Isekai anime is just terrible. So terrible that I would prefer to watch the manga instead of the animation. With low-invested animation for the fight, the audience would obviously loose their interest into the Anime because they generally are boring and doesn't bring any excitement. Characters Images are the same, but somehow I would accept it because that is a reason for the bluray to be sold. However, the thing I want to point out is that those good original works do not deserve to have a poor adaptation like that. It dissapoints the audience who have read the original work, and doesn't help to attract the audience who haven't read them to the Light Novel, too.
Those are my opinions about the current situation of Isekai anime. I am open to receive different perspectives about my argument and we can discuss about it. So, what about your opinion?
