Week 1: New Start

So, I started as a freshmen in this big university. I only have Making Media class in first 2 week so it's pretty chill for me. In the first moment I enter the class, I was stunned because there are too many girls and there are only a few boys. If you don't know, I'm quite bad when talking with girls so ... it kinda made me confuse. The class had like 18 people and only 5 of them are boys, including me. So anyway, we met the lecturer for this class, Mr. Erik. In the first class, he threatened us about things like no one having HD in previous class or his feedback would be too straight forward that some may think bad of him,... That was kinda scared a little bit. Then the class had some time to get into know each other. 4 boys in the class, including me formed a group and we talked a lil bit. There was one Dutch guy and he is the only foreigner in the class. He's 21 years old if i remember correctly. Anyway, after that, the lecturer showed us some work to do in the group. Everyone was pretty passive and no one wanted to give out their ideas ( probably I think it was because they don't know much about the topic just like i did so, can't blame anyone), but because of that I had some concerns about groupwork problems might occur later on in the class. Mah, it's not something too important at that time. After the work, Erik defined the word 'communicate' and explain it thoroughly. I was very surprised about the way he define that word and the way he explained that word. It made me feel like he is a very proffesional person in this major and he understand it extremely well. It also gave me a new way of thinking about this major because I had no idea what it really is at the start. After that we divided into 2 group, each group having 2 people thinking for the idea for the class first assignment. I gave out my idea about astrology but after that we decided to choose soft skill as out topic for the assignment and that was the end for the class. It ended at 3:00 pm so I don't have any problem driving home by my motorbike, happily. I haven't got enough gasoline for my motorbike so I have to ask my team member to show me the way. Happily I found out that place thanks to him and I can take gasoline to drive home.
